" When the Sartorialist started shooting the people arriving at fashion shows a few years ago, you could notice that people made sure they were wearing a good total look, because the Sartorialist shoots people head to toe. But then Tommy Ton came, and he photographs details, like a hand with a bright nail polish holding a clutch, or an interesting hat. The effect is that people are now wearing outfits that are broken up into several great Tommy Ton pictures, but all together they make for bad total outfits. Isn't that fascinating?"
